Provided third-party special inspection services for passive fire protective intumescent epoxy coatings applied to structural steel.  Special inspection services were recorded in a PE-certified Special Inspection Report that included the following:

• A summary of the contract requirements, specifications, and manufacturer recommendations for the PFP coating system materials and their application;

• Evaluation of the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) tests, procedures, and documentation associated with the PFP coating system materials and their application; and

• Observations made during site visits.

Experience with industrial and passive fire protective coatings enabled this time-sensitive project to be performed by a local engineer with the requisite specialized knowledge and experience.
