The client, a large producer of fertilizer products, has a process water impoundment at their chemical processing facility that has been in operation for years. The renewal of their discharge permit stipulated that the impoundment needed to implement a geosynthetic liner system. The client also had some operational challenges due to the age of the impoundment that did not allow them to use the asset to its full potential. Therefore, the client decided to take advantage of the situation and incorporate major upgrades to the impoundment while implementing a geosynthetic liner system.
